Is it important to use a floor\nmat when camping?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When you go camping, it\u2019s really important that you\nfeel fully comfortable and safe, as though you were at home. Choosing a good camping floor mat is\nessential as they each have their own virtues and will adapt to your needs. <\/strong>We\u2019ve\nlisted the most commonly used floor mats below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bolon floor\nmats<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Bolon is a brand that makes woven mats that are currently manufactured using recycled and synthetic materials. <\/strong>This fabric offers durability, so it is used as a camping floor mat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It provides great insulation from the stones and\ngravel there may be on the ground. Additionally, it\u2019s highly resistant<\/strong>, meaning these mats will last for a long time. As\nit is a non-absorbent fabric, <\/strong>it\u2019s\nreally easy to clean when something is spilled on it and it\u2019s ideal for the\nrain as, thanks to its woven design, water\nwill pass through it and no puddles will form. <\/strong>This woven design also means\nthe ground can still breathe<\/strong> so if\nthe mat is placed on damp grass there won\u2019t be any bad smells, nor will fungus\nor mould start to grow. In addition, these mats are highly resistant to UV rays and fire<\/strong> so they offer maximum safety!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best way to fix them in place is by using clips that\nshould be tightened from time to time. Of course, great quality comes with a\nhigh price. Furthermore, you should bear in mind that these mats are not\nnormally more than 3 metres wide, meaning if you want to cover an entire plot\nyou must use more than one piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aerotex\nfloor mats<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Aerotex is the commercial brand that makes this type of spongy floor mats. <\/strong>They are manufactured using a fibre fabric and covered with rubber foam. Inside, they have a mesh to reinforce the mat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As they are so spongy, standing on them is\nvery pleasant. This is also an anti-slide\n<\/strong>product, meaning these mats are perfect for making sure you won\u2019t fall.\nThey have many things in common with the previously mentioned mat as they are\nalso breathable and prevent bad odours\nand fungus<\/strong>. Their price is quite high, just like Bolon floor mats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should bear in mind that these mats\nare heavier than the majority of floor mats and they aren\u2019t usually more than 3\nmetres wide, so you\u2019ll need to use several pieces. This floor mat is not recommended for ground with fine gravel as the\nmat\u2019s surface has small holes the gravel may get into<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mesh floor mats<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are several types of meshes for\nfloor mats. Geotextile floor mats are recommended\nfor damp ground <\/strong>but their permeability is rather low, meaning puddles will\nform if it rains. Anti-weed mesh floor\nmats <\/strong>are more permeable than geotextile meshes but still not 100%. Both can\nbe cleaned easily and are sold in large\nsizes<\/strong> so you can cover as much ground as you like. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also olive harvest netting, which is highly resistant and flexible<\/strong>.\nFurthermore, no puddles will form as the fabric has holes in it to filter the\nwater. The downside is it\u2019s difficult to clean, especially with substances that\nget stuck to the fabric. There are other\nmeshes, such as mosquito netting and privacy screens <\/strong>that are often used\nalongside other floor mats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main advantage of this type of floor mat is that they are extremely cheap and very light. <\/strong>They are simple to roll up and take anywhere and they can be cut easily. Their low price and lightness mean they aren\u2019t as resistant as the floor mats mentioned earlier<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other types of floor mats<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Raffia floor mats<\/strong> are made of canvas manufactured with\nsynthetic woven thread. They are very\ncheap, they take up little space, and they are highly resistant. <\/strong>They can\nbe used when you don\u2019t want something in particular to get wet as they are\nwaterproof but as a floor mat they aren\u2019t great as puddles will form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another commonly used floor mat are those\ncomprised of rubber or foam tiles (the\nlatter is lighter). <\/strong>They are easy to place and they also raise the floor\nmat making it more difficult for water to get up onto it. They provide great insulation from electricity and humidity<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, good-quality, anti-slide PVC floors mats <\/strong>are another option. They\nmight cost more but they\u2019re worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
